I will overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the two fighters met personally to build hype for next month's bout.

Ex twice world title holder Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
